      The village of 
      Cold Ashton 
      houses a fine Elizabethan Manor House and old Rectory. The 16th Century 
      Church is also well worth a visit, the tower itself being well over 
      700years old.
 The village pub 
      The White Hart Inn used to be an old coaching Inn on the 
      main Bristol to London road and now serves traditional ales and good food.
 
 2 miles down the road is the village of Marshfield with 3 more pubs, a 
      small supermarket, newsagents, Butchers Shop and Post Office.
 
 Jct. 18 of the M4 is only 4 miles away allowing easy access for exploring 
      the area.
 
 6 miles to the south is the famous Georgian City of 
      Bath where you can see 
      the old Roman Baths or take a dip in the waters of the 
      New Bath Spa and 
      then treat yourself to a meal at 
      Jamie Oliver's new Italian Restaurant.
 
 Bristol is easily accessible via the A420 or the M4 Jct. 19.
 
 "Shop till you drop" in the new multimillion 
      Cabot Circus shopping 
      complex, or by complete contrast visit
      Brunel's SS Great Britain in 
      Bristol's dock area.
 
 The National Trust property 
      Dyrham Park is only 4 miles away. The 
      chocolate -box picture village of 
      Castle Coombe and 
      Badminton Horse Trials 
      a short 15 minute drive.
 
 At any time of the year 
      Westonburt Arboretum (but especially the Autumn) 
      is spectacular and well worth a visit. Landsdown Race Course is within 10 
      minutes drive.
 
 But if you just want to relax bring your golf clubs and visit Lansdown 
      Golf Club -------they welcome visitors, or just your walking boots and 
      enjoy the beautiful St Catherine's Valley or even part of 
      The Cotswold 
      Way!.
